Copper Scroll Update 5/15/08Shalom all! We are at 96% on the project. We had some bad issues arise but they are behind us now. Also, we had considered trying to do a meeting this coming Sunday but with the new and very promising developments that have to be confirmed, we have decided to hold off. "WE GOT THE ARCHEOLOGIST WE HAVE WANTED ALL ALONG," and he has great favor with the Israel Antiquities Authority. Our funding organizer has three more sources now interested in supporting the project, bringing the total to five. We are to speak with several of them next week and start getting the money in an account to pay for some of the upcoming expenses for the advance team. Our needs are small in the scope of things...we only need $158,000 for the initial dig which is peanuts for these people. Not to mention the producer Bill McKay (producer of the series Against all Odds) is negotiating for funds to do the documentary and is totally committed to the project. As most of you know, we have put National Geographic and The History Channel on hold but they have requested to be updated frequently, which I do. For those of you that are on the "advance dig team," (if you are a confirmed Copper Scroll team member and you have not already been notified that you are on the advance team you on the stand by team list) we have a conference call this Sunday at 4pm. We would like for you to call in on the number that will be provided to you and listen to the planning/discussion about the upcoming dig. Please wait until your name is called before you make a comment, we have 9 people on the advance team and we can't all speak at once. We will be giving tentative dates and locations that we plan to be staying, not to mention some of the details that you will need to be aware of. Have your questions ready for when your name is called. The rest of you will remain on stand-by so "PRAY" that our archeologist gets the permit completed ASAP so we can get you over there right away after we begin to dig. Remember...we must make a discovery for the rest of you to come and you will be called on an "as needed basis" so pray we find a "LOT" of stuff for you to help with so I can justify getting you over there. Remember, we are not treasure hunters and not on a tour to convert the Jewish people. We are on a mission. With all due respect, if anyone is caught trying to convert our Jewish brothers you will find yourself on an airplane on your way back to the states...that is not our goal. We are there to serve and to restore precious items to the Nation of Israel. If we find what we expect...all of our theology will be rocked to the core. Things continue to look great since we got back from the last trip to Israel. After our disappointing problem with the first archeologist and our original funding source, we are still not sure what is up with these folks but "we are not to worry." Always remember, pray that the Father's will is done but now pray that no one tries use my research and take the dig from us or get ahead of us and if they do...they are confused and totally unsuccessful. With the valuable items and precious metals even good people could get temped and it appears that some may be. Most of all, pray that our archeologist gets the permit for us right away (which is what he is currently working on.) Jim Barfield |
